It's a known problem in the new mbp's without solution. With the energy saver preferences i can only get the screen to sleep but not the whole system, the screen goes down but the white light in front never goes blinking.
When in battery mode if i don't put my mbp to sleep manually (via apple menu or closing the lid) it will drain the battery.
There is a third party application that can fix the problem but you need to have it running all the time and open (in a window or in the menu bar).
I think it's only a firmware or patch OS solution, because manually it works, BTW don't like the idea of returning to apple store soon (after two defective screen replacements)
