It's a known problem in the new mbp's without solution. With the energy saver preferences i can only get the screen to sleep but not the whole system, the screen goes down but the white light in front never goes blinking.

When in battery mode if i don't put my mbp to sleep manually (via apple menu or closing the lid) it will drain the battery.

There is a third party application that can fix the problem but you need to have it running all the time and open (in a window or in the menu bar).

I think it's only a firmware or patch OS solution, because manually it works, BTW don't like the idea of returning to apple store soon (after two defective screen replacements)

Maybe it will help submitting the bug:

I've never had an issue with this. I close the lid on my MBP and it goes to sleep.

Mine also goes to sleep well manually (by closing the lid or via the apple menu)

The problem is when i have the lid open i can not get my mbp to sleep with the energy saver control panel settings, if i set the computer to sleep in one minute of inactivity only the display goes to sleep (the screen goes down and the sleep indicator light stays on)

When the computer really sleeps this indicator light should pulse on and off.
