I just received my VESA mount apapter kit from imacmount.com and it doesn't fit!
I hope I'm not missing something obvious but the locking ring assembly O-ring does not line up with the inside of the hole in the stand. Anyone else had this problem too?? I hope I don't have to return it as it's such a nice bit of kit and I was very excited about finally securing my new iMac. I live in Japan so as you can imagine, securing expensive hardware is a must!

Thanks for the reply alectheking. The supplier certainly claim on their website that the adapter fits new iMacs,

"Great News! Our iMac VESA
Mount Adapter Kit also works
with the new 2011 iMac 21.5"

I'm hoping someone else has had the same problem and had it resolved by the supplier. Time zones and distance make this kind of thing a hassle for me to sort out.

let me have a link to the seller. My 27 inch is wall mounted and it is a 2009 but Apple told me I could only mount a 27 inch. I think the vesa back is a different size for your gear then the 27 inch one.

Ok, a little more info to make this clearer. The hardware I'm referring to is just an adapter that attaches directly to the iMac stand without removing the stand first. I'm aware that the larger iMacs stands can be removed to fit a different VESA mount bracket but that is not the case with the new 21.5 inch iMacs on which the stand can not be removed without completely dismantling the case first.
Anyway, here is the link to the supplier. I have contacted them already and await their reply. No doubt this problem is already known to them.

Latest update, I received a very prompt reply from the supplier to the effect that the issue I have mentioned above does not affect the safety of the mounting ring for the VESA adapter kit. I will try it out soon and update this post again. BB

Hello, I'm responding to this thread because I still receive inquries about this situation.

It isn't that our adapter kit wasn't fitting properly to the 21.5" iMac. Bentobilly questioned why the white plastic spacer included with the clamp assembly didn't extend through the cable management hole on the stand. The clamp does not rely on the spacer (ring) to secure the bracket to the stand. The spacer simply helps center the clamp when installing and prevents metal to metal contact.

We began including spacers with kits after the 20" models where released to maintain a universal solution for all smaller model iMac's. This now also includes all 21.5" models, as the stand did not change from the 20" models.
Our mount adapter kit works with all 17, 20, and 21.5 iMac models produced since 2006, and we back our product with a 30 day money back guarantee.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you!
