Hi all,

Any help here is greatly appreciated. I'm happy to give out more details to better understand what is going on, but the basics are:
Entry level Mid 2011 MBA. Regular OS updates, now running El Cap. Since installing have had somewhat regular crashes. Crashes consist of momentary freeze, black screen, grey screen with text in several languages "Your computer was restarted because of a problem..." then one or two reboots back to login screen.
I haven't been able to isolate it to any one application or operation. It does seem to co-occur with swiping between desktops and often when landing on mail or iTunes. I've copy/pasted the crash details below if that means anything to anyone.

Thanks for any help/insight!

There have been numerous issues reported with the Trusteer Rapport software, including problems with iTunes. Google "rooksd osx" or "Trusteer Rapport problems". I don't have this software but somebody suggested you can disable it in the System Preferences app (on the bottom row).

Hi there

I'm replying to let you know that this is a problem which has recently occurred on my MacBook Pro since I upgraded to El Capitan.
I was getting the 'Panic' problem whenever I was on Safari and then more recently on Mail.
I am now in contact with Apple and they are trying to sort out the problem for me.

All I can say is that: - first do a first aid check on disk utility
- then try and work in 'safe boot' system
- set up a 'test' login and use it for a while to see if the problem persists.

There may be a problem with conflicting software.

I shall post any new findings as soon as I've got them. In the meantime I'm continuing working in 'test' mode.

Cheers

I am hesitantly optimistic that uninstalling Rapport Trusteer software is the fix! No crashes yet...
