Just curious if anyone can tell me how long a mid 2012 MacBook pro will be fully functional ?
I have thoughts on replacing it with an iPad pro ..just not sure if there would be anything i would miss .
It seems to me that the new iPad pro would be just as fast ,I'm just not sure about a few small things such as will safari on the iPad pro pull up desktop sites or mobile sites? the only thing i really use my MacBook for now that an iPad pro couldn't do would be to sync and back up my iPhone .I think that now can all be done with out a cord by saving all to the cloud..

Love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
Hope i got the right forum

I have a 2011 MBP. I upgraded the Ram and the SSD. It runs super smooth. There’s even people who edit with final cut on these older models

And I have a mid 2010, which also refuses to die, unfortunately. SSD/RAM/ battery upgraded.

My mid-2012 died last January when the keyboard failed. Tried 3 eBay repair jobs, none worked unfortunately. Feared it was a logic board issue.

well after some research ,due to iPad pro still using mobile safari .ill still need a laptop..now i have to narrow it down between a MacBook air and a MacBook pro

i vote for the pro, simply because that machine has more to offer, and much more sturdy while the macbook pro still can be upgraded as far as ram and HD space, and can still function on El cap or mt lion OSX
