Anyone managed to get one and see if the internals are similar yet? ifixit hasn't done a teardown of the 2012 version yet so I couldn't find any information on it.

Also I wonder if SATA III for SSD works in the optibay in the new model for the 15". I know the 13" works fine but I haven't seen any reports of SATA III working well in the 15" yet (not the '12 version and not even the late '11 version).

However the fact is that I don't mind having some limitations in speed but I just wanna know if the SSD runs reliably in the optibay drive without failing so any experiences with the 15" MBP w SSD in the optibay would be much appreciated!

I don't have a mid 2012 macbook pro, but found this report
http://macperformanceguide.com/blog/2012/20120616_2-MacBookPro15-SSD-6G-RAID.html

OWC is reporting that the June 2012 MacBook Pro 15" (non-Retina) is showing solid 6G SSD performance in the optical bay, something which has been a problem with the prior models. Perhaps the new Ivy Bridge chipset is involved, or perhaps Apple has fixed some engineering bugs.

Now to find a cheap optibay caddy that handles SATA III
