Hi all,

Purchased a mid-2014 15" MBP 256gb at the beginning of this year. I am starting to get low on storage..
Does anywhere do reasonably priced 512gb SSD's at all? Cannot seem to find anything reasonably priced.

If not, I may have to go down the Transcend add-in SSD path..any reviews of other users?

I am located in Australia, but happy to get something posted from the States if it means saving some $$

help would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot upgrade the part there are no third party drives available with apples proprietry connector for sale, it is possible to get a second hand one from ebay or similar pulled from another mac but that is your only option. Your best bet is to sell your one and buy a higher spec one the difference will be about the same as buying a second hand apple SSD.

Yeah, you'll need to either sell and buy one with more internal storage as suggested, or get an external SSD. If you're not having any issues with performance, I'd go with the second option. Samsung and Sandisk both have small and portable external SSD options. Or you can just get an SSD like the 850 EVO and put it in an enclosure. I don't think the Transcend jetdrives are going to be as fast, but they're a nice additional option for external storage.

^This was cheaper ($149) yesterday through Amazon, but I think they sold out.
