I have a core i5 8GB MacBook and it’s having wifi problems. I’ve tried everything to include a clean install, NVRAM reset, and took it to Genius Bar this weekend. They ran diagnostics and only found that the graphics processor was showing signs of degradation but it wouldn’t impact the wifi. I just did another clean install and even during setup the wifi would drop. I am at a loss on what could be the issue. It happens no matter the network and not other devices on the network have this issue. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hold the option key and click the Wi-Fi icon on your menubar. What are the RSSI and MCS Index values?

It seems to be more stable on 2.4ghz vs 5ghz but still has issues. Here’s the info.

On 2.4ghz
RSSI: -28dBm
MCS: 15

On 5ghz
RSSI: -37dBm
MCS: 9
