I recently bought the Korg M1 vst to use in GarageBand. GarageBand will load it just fine. I can hear notes when I use my trackpad to click on the virtual M1 keyboard. But my MIDI keyboard won’t work to play the M1 sounds. Nor will it play the M1 sounds if I open the vst outside of GarageBand. The MIDI keyboard plays all the factory sounds in GarageBand just fine so I know it’s working ok. I have a 2012 Mac mini running Mojave. The keyboard is an Alesis Q61. Thanks for any help!

Your plugin may only work in a certain octave range. Try moving the octave on your keyboard to see if there's a spot where it works. Outside of that I have no ideas...

Did you figure it out?

You may need to set it up in the plugin. There may be a setting for it to be assigned to a specific MIDI controller.

Yeah sorry. I forgot to add a reply. The MIDI keyboard was set to the wrong channel. User error!!
