That's more of a pay per day. When I said pay per use I mean pay per MB used

That would suck to pay $15 for a day and not use $15 worth of data. It would be cool though if you paid for $15 worth of data and had it expire in a week or two. Kinda like Virgin has theirs setup

Yeah that makes sense. I could see $15 for maybe 100MB being nice. Kind of like an itunes card or those calling cards. I really don't want to pay for something if I don't use it to the very max....

Or, we can keep fantasizing about 3G on the iPod touch. I don't see how paying more than internet at my house and get a bandwidth cap is worth doing that. I pay $35 for AT&T's most expensive residential ISP service. I get unlimited data. Now who would pay $40 or even $60 for a tiny bit of data and inconvenience of carrying stuff in your pockets? I sure wouldn't...

*The 3G on iPod Touch dreamers go quiet* If you want 3G on iPod Touch you might....

They compared AT&T's 2G (EDGE) network speed to Sprint's 3G network speed and you're surprised how much faster Sprint was? Really?

Sprint and Verizon started their 3G networks years before AT&T and T-Mobile did, so yeah, Sprint/Verizon have 3G in more rural areas where AT&T and T-Mobile haven't gotten to yet. Nothing but time is going to fix that.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did come out there very soon on pardon my ignorance but whatever network you have there. Does verizon/AT&T go into Canada?

Out here the only carrier that can support the iPhone is Rogers and Fido.. And Rogers owns Fido. Telus is CDMA still and Bell is 2G. Although Bell advertises 3G, whatever it is they have the speeds are horrible (Parents are on them and speeds are 500Kbs up/down. lol)
I use Rogers wireless for internet (using the 3G network). Right now Im getting 3.67Mbs UP and .98 Mbs DOWN. Which isnt too terrible. Only frustrating thing is I'm averaging out at 347ms ping times. No packet loss, just high numbers. Which for voip is pretty terrible.
My girlfriend is also on wireless and she is getting 8Mbs UP and 8 Mbs DOWN. Around 2ms to 5ms ping times.. Dont ask how that is possible. I run a wireless company :D

Do the math

$40~$60 per month for Mi-Fi (wi-fi; not 3G speed) + your regular cell phone plan

vs.

$70 per month for unlimited 3G for iPhone

Which is cheaper?

(Monthly Mi-Fi + minimum monthly cell phone plan) will cost more than the minimum monthly iPhone plan alone.

If you got a nokia phone with symbian you can buy a program called Joikuspot which turns your phone into a "MiFI". It works great. I have unlimited data plan for my nokia phone, costs $9/month.

Will this work in Canada?

Data Plan

Bosep: Who is your provider for the $9.00 monthly data plan? Thanks.
