Mighty Mouse Help

I've tried different surfaces but my wired mighty mouse jumps all over the place. Really rather annoying. Any tips/suggestions?

what are you using as a mat?

I hear a smooth flat surface is best, specifically not a fabric mouse mat.

oh and bare skin doesn't work too well either (legs or arms), a book is ok though.

If your desk is wood it might do a little jumping if you are not using a mat. Maybe the type of mat you are using is causing the jump...try another one.

I had the same problem using the MM on a wood surface. I don't like using a mouse pad so I ended you replacing the mouse with a laser vs the optical mouse. No problems anymore.
