Migrate Data to Retina MBP - Best Practice

As the RMBP doesn't come with FW and ETH, Im planning to migrate my 200GB stuff via my Time Machine backup external disk which is also USB2. Would it be a hell? To be honest I don't want to buy a TB-GigaEthernet adaptor, as I will use it once just for that purpose. Any other thoughts?

You're only option is USB or an adapter.

Personally with a new computer I don't use the migration assistant but rather restore only my data, i.e., reinstall my apps. That way I'm starting on a new computer with a clean slate 🙂
