So I just ordered a new MBA for travel and I plan to use my MBP as the "heavy duty" machine for crunching numbers, video, etc. My question is this - can I somehow "clone" the MBP and place that image on the MBA? For example, using SuperDuper (which I own) or Time Machine, can I "restore" the MBP image to the MBA and make it a virtual copy? My plan is to then use DropBox to keep the files sync'd over time.

The good side of the grass.
Run a time machine backup of entire MBP disk on USB ext. drive. When you first turn on your Air on about the third screen, it'll ask you if you'd like to migrate from a previous mac, click yes and choose the time machine backup option. Then plug in your USB drive to the Air and it'll show up, click it and wait.... Your new Air will look identical to your MBP so watch out how much stuff you have on there since the Air's drive is less than 1/2 the size of your MBP.

I did the same thing twice in two weeks.

Awesome - thanks! I use my Time Machine over the network - can you migrate via network or does it have to be USB (understanding that USB is faster...)?
