How do I migrate my files and images from a Leopard Macbook to a Intel iMac running Tiger?

migration assistant (apps->utilitites) will pretty much walk you through it.

That isnt working. I am trying to transfer files to an older version of Tiger (10.4.4)....the files are on a machine running Leopard at the moment.

I'd boot the Leopard machine into target disk mode then and transfer manually. Should have no problems.
