Hi all,

My MBP will be here soon, and I'll need to migrate from ppc to intel.

I know that I can use Migration assistant to transfer users, etc. safely, but I cannot transfer applications due to the difference in architecture (I'd have to redownload and reinstall them). However, I was wondering if MA transfers the application preferences (can I select this) or do I have to, once I've downloaded each application, go to my old ppc and drag over the corresponding application support files and the companyname.application.plist files?

Cliffnotes: Does Migration assistant allow the user to select application preference files (not the application) for transfer when setting up a new pc?

nm, eventually found the answer with google. To all who have the same question:

Google Cache of About.com: Migration Assistant

"Library. Files in the Library folder of your previous version of OS X will be copied. The Library folder is where most applications store preferences files, licensing files, and other important information that the applications need when they’re being used. This item type is automatically selected when you select either Applications or Files and Folders."
