I just bought a 15" i7 Mac Book Pro and on switching it on, I find it totally different from what I am used to - Ubuntu. I feel it'll take me 6 months for the migration.

What happened to the maximize button ? The + button doesnt really maximize it.
Is there some good resource on how to make the shift from Ubuntu ?

There is no way to fully maximize, so a developer created BetterSnapTool which copies Windows 7 way of anchoring the window to the top of the screen to fully maximize it, to the side to make it occupy half of the screen (so as to have 2 windows side by side).

It won't take 6 months, trust me. It's as easy as it gets! If you're used to using commands, the homologue on Mac OS X is "Terminal"

Drag your window to the top left of the screen, then click on the lines at the bottom right of the page and frag it to the bottom right. Once you set that window size, it will stay that way every time you open it.
I switched from ubuntu as well, I bought a book on snow leopard, it made the transition pretty easy. :)
