Migrating iPhoto library to iCloud Photo Library (for Photos)

How do I do it?

I bought the 200 gb icloud, my iphoto library is 120 gb.

Photos has not yet been released publicly, only a public beta is available. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until April when it is released.

I'm on the beta. It should work already. It seems I have to hold down option while opening Photos to select my iPhoto library, will try that...

The first time I opened Photos it detected my iPhoto library automatically and migrated over.

Me too... It sorta 'just worked' like that. I have only migrated my iPhone and laptop (aka small) photo libraries. My dual screen iMac Aperture library is, of course, still only held locally with a Synology back up awaiting a public release/nonbeta version of photo library.
