Hi. I’m about to use Migration Assistant to migrate my old Mac to a new one using a Time Machine backup. My backup includes of course the Mac’s internal drive plus an external HD which I keep most of my data on. I know I can just plug in the external HD to the new computer, but I’m wondering for the migration of the old Mac internal drive data, since the Time Machine backup includes the external HD, will it try to put both the internal and external HD data onto the new Mac’s internal drive? Or will it know to only migrate the internal drive data? Would it be better to do a Mac to Mac migration? The only thing with Mac to Mac is the instructions says to use wifi which would probably be much slower than USB 3.
Both Macs are running Mojave.

Thanks!
