I bought a new 13 MBP about 5 days ago, and I finally got around to buying a firewire cable to use with Migration Assistant. I want to transfer word docs, apps, music, settings and what have you to my MBP from my iMac.

I hooked it all up, sat around for two hours and when it finally finished, I couldn't find a damn thing! No word documents, no folders, no nothing. I did find my rosetta stone which didn't work, but I probably have to reinstall that anyways.

Where did it all go? I have 40gb of my 150 hard drive left so it's got to be somewhere!

Or should I just restore my MBP (if possible?) and try it again?

Did it put it all in a User Account different from the one you are logged in to?

Why don't use just use the one that was transferred and delete the other one? You couldn't have added that much stuff in the 5 days you have had it. Make sure the transferred user account is an admin though before you delete your account.
