Note: I've already used MRoogle and had a hard time finding anything related to what I'm going to ask.

Let me first describe my situation. I just got a new 15" i7 and my I have an old white macbook 2.16 ghz from 2007 (the model came out in 2006 I believe). The old macbook has snow leopard running on it and runs pretty flawlessly most of the time (has it's limitations, but that's due to the computer itself).

Would it be recommended to use migration assistant? And if not, will my new 15" perform worse than it would have if I didn't use migration assistant?

Thank you.

You can use MA to transfer your files via firewire or Ethernet, and it shouldn't perform worse after the migration unless you have some strange settings.

Some applications might not run under Mac OS X 10.6 if they are from 10.4 though.
