Migration Assistant.

I want to transfer various files from my trusty eMac to my MBP.

Can someone please confirm if when using Migration Assistant the files are copied and then moved or are they transferred and deleted on the source Mac.

Love migration assistant, however sometimes theres a few things that are good to do afterwards.

Whatever you Don't transfer the network settings to the new back. This causes all kinds of trouble because the PPC code to the new 10.6.x code.
