Hi
I'm excitedly waiting for my MBPR to be delivered this week and am thinking about how I can migrate from my 2009 MBP.
The default option would be to use my Time Machine backup on my NAS. However, because it's going via ethernet (yes, I've ordered the MBPR ethernet adapter), it's quite slow to move 500GB.
Another idea I had was to take the HD out of the old MBP, putting it in a USB2 casing I have lying around, and connecting this directly to the new MBPR. However, I've just realised that my old HD has FileVault 2 installed.
My questions are:-
1) Will my old HD work on my new laptop as an external drive? Will I get prompted for a FileVault 2 password?
2) Am I right that - if I can get it mounted - I'll be able to use migration wizard to get my files/apps copied across easily?
Thanks in advance
