I have been stuck on this for about 2 hours"

I have seen numerous posts and articles that state if I "wait a long time it will eventually finish".

Just wondering how long you guys have waited?

When do I pull the shoot?

Going from late 2013 IMac to late 2013 iMac.

For me I left it over night after waiting 4 hours. It was complete the following morning

Just to be clear were you hung up on "less than a minute" for 4 hours then left over night?

Correct. Started at 4pm by 6pm it said less than a minute. By 10pm was still saying the same, done a quick google saw it was a recognised issue, left it and went to bed. By 6am it was complete.

Hey, just checking if your less than a minute remaining issue ended?

I'm migrating a 2009 MBP to a 2014 MBP and it's been on "less than a minute remaining" for the last 5 hours.

I am having this same issue. It has been stuck on "less than 1 minute" for 2 hours now. transferring from time machine external hard drive backup. does anyone know how long you have to wait approximately for it to work?

same problem.. stuck on one minute for hours..
How long to wait before force quitting it all?

called AppleCare (NL) about the failing Migration Assistant.
Stupidest answer EVER: its a good program when it works...

Got a new Mac but havent felt this frustrated for a long time...

I left mine for 24 hours after I noted it said "a minute remaining". Still no end... Gonna give it another 24hours... Madness.

I don't know the true situation in your computer and with your task.
My own experience however has always been that messages telling that a certain time is needed for completion of any procedure in a computer are never to be taken seriously! :D

Very seldom "...still 5 minutes" last truly at the end 5 x 60 seconds, or "1 minute left" ends after 60 seconds. ;)
Actually it can last much, much longer and usually this is the case.

It is more or less as serious as weather forecasts...

On the other side I have from time to time a message telling me, for instance, that a certain task will take 1278570 hours and 18 minutes :D... and after a short time it corrects itself and the true final time is less than an hour.

I have learned to live with totally unreliable computer timing messages which, fullfil what they usually write at the end of many movies
"any similarity with actual facts is purely coincidental" :)
