Hey guys, I caved in and got an iphone X, but I find myself missing some android features, maybe I'll be able to replicate them on IOS? These are the ones I miss the most:

1. Smart Lock: Having the phone unlock itself on certain "trusted locations" , for example at my house, I don't want to have to use face id everytime while I'm at home, I know I can have the phone stay unlocked if I'm using bluetooth headphones, but I want more than that

2. Useful word prediction: I don't know if I'm really stupid , but is going to the settings page and then adding keyboard shortcuts the only way to add new words to the dictionary? There must be something I'm missing, it cannot be that cumbersome to add new words, the autocorrection is just way too aggresive I always end up writing some weird stuff to my friends!

3. Select from which sources I get my news on the news widget: I only get suggestions from the newspapers I hate the most in Germany, only sensationalist crap! And no, apple is not getting those suggestions from my safari history, it's just showing me "popular news"

And something I know I can't change but nevertheless wanted to mention, damn notifications are bad, they don't get grouped, so I end up with a very long list of notifications and you cannot expand them, so you are forced to open the app to see what's going on :/

Also please apple, stop forcing us to use your apps! Stop trying to make apple maps happen, I don't want to have to choose every single time when I want to open some directions if I want to use google maps or apple maps, newsflash I just want to use google maps; and safari... yes it works better than chrome , but I don't have a mac, so I use chrome to store my bookmarks, just let me set chrome as default...

And of course The homescreen, how hard is to let me choose where I want to put the shortcuts? I want them low, CLOSE to my hand/fingertips , why do they throw them all the way to the top? Seriously stop wasting your time and resources with the animoji bulls* and imessage heartbeats and give us some real useful features apple.

Thanks for the help guys and sorry for the rant.

And just try to set your own choice of music as a ringtone !
But it's much more important to have a few immature "imojis" dancing around.
I often wonder if apple is now aiming its products at the under 10 age group...
"Ooh look...a talking pile of poop!"

You can't change default apps, but you can delete most of them if you don't want to use them (and have alternatives).

Notifications display what the app they are associated with sends, so there really isn't any expanding if the app didn't send anything more in that notification to begin with.

Autocorrect and predictive typing generally learn as you type and correct things so it might take a bit of time but at least some words will be learned sooner and others might take more depending on your usage.

Don't believe there's a way to do what you mention in item 1 (aside from perhaps jailbreaking and finding some tweak that might do something like that). Not sure about item 3.

But for example let's say you get a long text message on whatsapp, you just get to read a couple of lines and if you want to read the rest of the message you have to open whatsapp ... :/

Also let's say you get a text from a friend on whatsapp and then after that you get an email and after that a missed call and then again whatsapp messages, they're shown just like that, wouldn't it make more sense to group all notifications from an app together? :/

They used to have grouping and sorting options for notifications, but removed them a couple of iOS versions ago for some reason.
