I am hoping someone can help me figure this out. My daughter has an iPad and she loves to play Minecraft. She now has some friends that are also into Minecraft and they also have iPads. She would like to play with them online every now and then. I am lost on how to setup this and what she might need. Does playing Minecraft online with other friends cost money? I appreciate any help.

No it’s free online, just had to pay the initial upfront cost of the game. If they aren’t all in the same house under the same wifi though, you need to create her a Xbox gamer tag so she can add them as friends on there and then join a world together.

So in the game, it’s setting, profile, sign in for free. That brings you to the Microsoft log in page

there may be other ways of going about it, I don’t play the game myself but my kids do and had to just go through this set up last week lol

There are multiple ways to play multiplayer.

Thank you all. I was able to get this setup and my daughter is now able to play both, LAN and online multiplayer Minecraft games.
