Pictured attached. Battery life has never been great since having it.

I agree that battery life on my Mini 6 and 7 has been generally poor from the start. Here's my Mini 7's health. I have had it on the 80% charging limit since purchasing it in December of 2024. I typically plug it in overnight nightly and often use it while plugged in. When I travel I disable the charging limit to get the extra 20% boost.

Oof those are some pretty rough numbers OP. Do you use the device in a lot of heat and/or fast charge it a lot?

I'm happy with where my launch day Mini 7 is.

I use a Pitaka iPad stand with MagSafe case for wireless charging. 🤷 Requires a 45w adapter since it also has a bottom charge pad for iPhone/Airpods as well. I rarely use that portion though, mainly just stick my iPad on it. I’m thinking just got a really crappy battery. Not sure if it can be classified as “defective” though?

I generally keep my mini 7 limited to 80% unless I'm going to be out with the iPad. I bought it in February 2025, and with 113 cycles on the battery, it's still at 100% health.

My mini 7, set to 80% limit since close to day 1, usually charged on a 20W adapter and rarely, only when traveling, on a 35W dual:

Health: Normal
Max cap: 94%
Cycle count: 133
Manufactured: Dec. 2024
First use: March 2025

I ran the share analytics test on my Mini 6 out of curiosity, although my problem is more it dropping rapidly from about 40% every so often rather than frequency of charges required.

Bought it about a week after launch, 1131 cycles and 82 or 83% health depending on whether FCC or the rated capacity is used.

Impressed compared to these Mini 7 figures, especially considering it didn't come with the 80% limit option.

Wow, that battery report is pretty surprising. I bought my cellular model in November 2024 (battery manufacture date is the same as yours) and the battery app reports 100% @ 194 cycles. CoconutBattery reports the battery health at 98% (4,915 mAh/5,015 mAh). For the most part I've had the charge limit set to 80%, but even with Apple devices that I didn't "baby" the battery, it was years before the battery health got below 90%.

I've had mine for just over a year, admittedly my usage case for it is probably not as heavy as some (73 cycles in a year is probably on the lower side) but it still does see daily use for media consumption. I do not have a charging limit set, and it gets charged to 100% approximately twice a week.
