Hey, I was planning to use my iMac as a monitor for my xbox, (imac: http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...e-i3-3.2-21-inch-aluminum-mid-2010-specs.html), so I would have an HDMI cord connected to my xbox, to a HDMI > Mini Display Port converter, and then I plug in that to my mac. Will that just work? Will I just plug it into my iMac and then the screen converts? Thanks. I don't want to pay for this stuff, if it won't even work.

Edit: By just working, I mean I plug it in, and the xbox magically works and shows up on my screen. If I have to use another program to actually read the input, just tell me that. Thanks

It will NOT work, you need a 27" iMac to use it as display, and for HDMI sources you need converters.
Only the 21.5" iMac from 2011 can be used as display, but then again only via a Thunderbolt device.
