Hello all,

I need a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 at 10ft or 3m. I can only find it at 6ft or 2m. That is way too short for me to connect my Macbook Pro to my Dell Monitor. I have a DP 1.1 and a 1.2. The 1.1 is long enough (10ft) but my Dell monitor only displays 1080p not at 1440p. My 1.2 displays at full resolution.

Does anyone know where I can buy a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 10ft cable?

Thanks!

(Only one I could find but the ratings are bad)

2m is the maximum guaranteed distance for "Certified" cables at full resolution, though the FAQ says "Some cables, due to their design, may be capable of supporting 2560 x 1600 resolution over lengths longer than 2 meters."

Some longer cables are "Reduced Bit Rate" cables made for projectors, that may be what you have there. If you can't find a DP1.2 cable, look for DP1.1a - for non-active cables there is no difference in the specs.

I've always had excellent luck with Accell cables. They don't make a 3m mDP->DP cable, but they make a mDP->DP adapter and a 3m DP->DP cable.
