Actually, I received an email from Monoprice today that they were in stock. I think they haven't been available before; they just placed all the details on their site along with a "notify me when this item becomes available".
But perhaps I'm wrong.
In any case, I'm a little disappointed: Its max resolution is listed as 1920x1080 (I have a 1920x1200 monitor) and it's an adapter instead of a cable. I was hoping to get rid of the ugly dongle next to my laptop.
i guess a mini toslink to the reciever is a must if you go with HDMI. Goodnews is that HDCP is not necessary for it to play on the HDTV now though probably most HDTV are HDCP compliant..
It would require active circuitry to break audio out of the mini display port, which would wind up making the cable/adapter cost $100 and potentially be broken every time Apple updates the drivers for mini displayport.
It's far less painful to go the HDMI route with separate audio from optical.
