I'm sure in a perfect would this would exist but just thought I would bring it up, I've got a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and I figured if there was simple adapter to take mini-dvi to mini-dp I could just reuse the old adapter.

Guessing it doesn't exist but worth a shot.

just go with one adapter. you'll experience less problems.

a lot of times the only reason some adapters work is if the signal in on the original connecter. for example, DVI - VGA, the only way those work is if the analog signal is included on the DVI port. if the orignal port doesn't have it, they don't work.
