I have an iMac with the slot drive. Will it correctly load, read, and eject the mini DVDs? Sometimes software like with joysticks come on mini DVDs. I'm hesitant to put one in the slot drive when I don't really know if it will work.

NO!!!

You need to use a drive with a draw on it. If you put a mini in a slot drive it will be the last time you do that.

Thanks, that's what I suspected, but sometimes those Apple engineers are even more clever than we thought. 🙂

I have another computer with a drawer drive and I just put the mini in there and copy it to a thumb drive.

I don't recall exactly where, but Apple does warn you NOT to put mini discs in the slot drives. The warranty doesn't cover it either.

Shame as the Nintendo Wii slot load drive accepts 8 cm discs (gamecube games) so drives that can are out there (and cheap).
