Mini DVI to HDMI?

I need a cable that goes from Mini DVI to HDMI.

My mother has this mac

And I have this one

What is the DVI cable I need and what is the DVI she needs? I mean, the Mini DVI we got at school, goes in the old MAcBook, but not MacBook Pro. What do I need and what does she needs?

the Macbook is a mini DVI but the Macbook Pro in that picture is mini DisplayPort not mini DVI. For that you need a mini-DP->HDMI adapter like this one:

Note: I haven't used this adapter yet so I can't comment on its quality.

I have the miniDP to HDMI from monoprice. Sound still comes out of the Mac, but the picture quality is great on the 42" HDTV.
