So I'm looking at options for a new mini.

Apple seems to currently offer three mini server HD configurations, 1) two 1TB rotational drives, 2) two SSDs, 3) one SSD.

For the one SSD option, does anyone know if it would be pre-wired for the second hard drive?

If I compare the one SSD mini server to the one SSD mini, I don't see any technical difference beside the server OS and perhaps wiring for a second drive. Am I missing something that warrants the $200 price difference (both having same processor and RAM)?

I've been waiting for the update, but don't know how much longer I can hold out. When I contact Apple with questions, first they want to sell me a Pro model :) I need a low power and quiet computer.

Tell me why are you buying the server version?
    the Server app costs $20
and the OWC kit for a second drive is $30 or so...
it will be much more cost effective to get the non-server i7 :D save $150 or so for a SSD or a storage drive :D

I agree with you, but wanted to verify.

I was not saying I'm buying the server, just asking if I missed something that would make it worthwhile to me. I didn't see any differences worth the $200, but what do I know? :) A search of the forum didn't pick up any current discussion.

Adding or replacing a mini internal drive is difficult (for me). I'd have to pay OWC $99 to do it, and then I'd lose the Apple warranty.

I'd prefer not to open the mini other than to add RAM. I'm thinking that a SSD (or fusion) version i7 for the OS responsiveness and then use external drive(s) for more storage would be best for me.... I may be able to get by without the server OS, but as you say thats only like $19 currently.
