iPhone 13 mini Mini vs SE?

Looking for a phone for my 10-year old, I see Verizon has a "free" SE or 12 with a new line, but for some reason not the mini. Looking at all three phones the mini seems like the best one because of its size, but at the same time has a large screen. Are there a lot of differences with the mini and SE?

well mini whether 12 or 13 justifiably better than SE2 or 3.
It all boils down to if you want to "eat the difference" in the price. I didn't so went with SE2.
