iPad mini mini with retina display stock in Dallas area

nothing...i have been refreshing apples site nonstop since yesterday morning, and have been calling all best buys and apple stores. nothing in all of Texas actually. I'm hoping today is the day.

Its not in store. You have to do an in store pick up through Apple online to get one.
right, but not one apple store has shown any stock online in all of Texas from what I can tell. I have been checking nonstop.
In the UK I've seen all WiFi available in both colours, and 32GB Cellular available in both colours.

Same in Minnesota too. Chicago and KC both have stock, but we have nothing. I noticed that Texas didn't either. What's really odd to me is that even the flagship Best Buy (on 494 right by BB corporate headquarters) didn't get any either. That makes me think it wasn't a BB decision which stores got some.
Nothing in Texas...I browsed around and there WERE some available in Arkansas yesterday. I seriously considered it for a moment.

Some wifi mini's were available at a Best Buy in Katy, besides that, haven't seen any in Houston.
hahaha..same here..my wife said she'd consider leaving me if i drove 5 hours for a mini in Arkansas.
what time did you do this? i've been looking on and off all day. Arkansas was the only place that showed in stock when I searched around Dallas area.
mostly 16gb versions, but have checked 32gb and nothing as well....
what did you get and knox store by smu?

I think it's pretty clear that Apple doesn't tell store employees much of anything. How the hell are they supposed to know when they're coming in?
so you think Apple didn't tell store employees the morning of to get ready we have minis coming and people will be using the online tool? Does a ghost magically set the stock aside, print invoices and tape it to the boxes?
I spoke with Apple Store (Stonebriar) employee yesterday around 5 PM and they said they had not received any stock. And as usual they could not tell when they were expecting any.
I was thinking that I was late to the party and all the iPad minis were snagged but based on what I have seen, it looks like none of the Apple stores in Texas got any stock at all.

Correct - I was checking constantly all day yesterday and there was never any stock anywhere, leading me to believe it simply hasn't arrived yet. No other explanation why two of the largest metroplexes in the country didn't get anything on "launch day".....
I think that they're told to expect minis at some point during the week but they don't tell them exactly when. Their business model is rooted in secrecy and that would compromise it. When the minis arrive that's when the orders are coming in so obviously they know what to do. Before that no one can order anything from the store so why do they need to know about it?
