iPad mini Mini with Retna Display?

My friends mom is selling me her mini. She said it is the retna display but she doesnt have the box. How do I make sure it is the retna display model? Thanks!

The retina model has two mica, with the new mic on the rear of the device. No rear mic, no rMini.

If you type in the serial number here it might tell you.

Serial number is on the back and in Setting -> General -> About.

The simplest thing is look for the second microphone hole on the back.

The Retina mini's have your choice of color which now extends to the back of the R mini. The back of my new Retina mini is space grey.

The originals have the typical aluminum back, no choice of color.

It did. But they released the 1st gen Mini in space gray this year at 299 as well. They did not discontinue the 16gb wifi model.
