Wondering if (using adapter), I could hook up my MBP in Bootcamp to a HDTV, use the MDPtoHDMI adapter, and have audio?

Basically, use the TV as a monitor (for gaming), and have the MBP's sound come thru the TV's speakers?

I'm not sure what rev your MBP is, but audio passthrough is supported on the 2010 MBPs. http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2010/04/new-macbook-pros-support-audio-over-mini-displayport.ars

Otherwise you need to get one of the adapters that also includes a USB port to grab the audio which may or not work under Windows.

Do all mini DP to hdmi adapters support audio pass through? Saw some add that they are just passive (don't really know what that means)

No. Read the Ars Technica article I linked. Also, monoprice's $7.50 adapter says
EDIT: The Griffin one clearly says it is supported. http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/video-display-converter

2010 i7 MBP (see in sig).

My question was whether or not the MiniDisplayPort could output video and Audio in Bootcamp to a TV via HDMI adapters. I know HDMI can carry audio, but whether or not the MDP could thru MDP under Bootcamp was (and is) unclear to me.

The Griffin adapter's looking good, though.
