Are there any of you who use Mint Mobile with a 14 PM? I have been using Mint Mobile for the last 4 years (love them) with my Android phones that use a Sim card. If I were to setup a 14 PM on eSim, would they send me a physical Sim card so I can insert that into my Android phone? That would work for me if that were possible.

I guess I would have to shutoff one phone and turn on the phone I wanted to use?

They give you the ability to use an e-sim.
Hey thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. Would they send me a physical Sim card if I downloaded the eSim to the 14PM? I want to be able to switch between my iPhone 14 PM and my Pixel phones.

Anyone else use Mint mobile or similar? any issues?
I recently swiched to MM from ATT, it took me 5min to switch. I paid $70 via paypal for 6 month. They use T-Mobile's network and I have a 14p/esim.

I’ve with Mint Mobile, 4 yrs now. The service is great if T-Mobile is great in your area. In 4 years i’ve had less than 5 dropped calls. You get 4GB of 5G data which can be used as a hotspot all for $15 plus tax. I don’t know why people still do contracts? It boggles the mind. When I was with Verizon, trying to understand their billing pretty much required an accountant.

I got tired of that and I tried Boost Mobile, then Straight Talk which uses ATT in my area and I finally settled on Mint. The only downside with Mint is that you have to pay for the entire year upfront to get the discount. But their billing is straight forward, you pay for the monthly service plus sales tax and 911 tax which is required.

Oh no, what do you do for Apple Watch??
Sadly, I have to go without being able to use my watch to make/receive calls when away from my phone. I save so much money that I’ve learned to live without it. Honestly there have only been a few times when I’ve needed to use my watch as a phone. I almost always have my phone with me.

Just wanted to say, at least in the US, none of the nationwide or pseudo-nationwide carriers (like US Cellular) offer contracts anymore. What you’re thinking of is probably an equipment installment program, where you pay the device off 24/36mo instead of paying up front. Mint Mobile and most other MVNOs do offer EIPs like the major carriers.

The only major difference in billing now between pre-paid and post-paid is exactly their name: prepaid you pay before you use the service, post-paid you’re paying after you’ve used it. They’re both month to month no contract except for potentially some smaller regional post-paid carriers offering contracts.

I use Mint Mobile on my 13PM with dual esim. (Main Verizon Secondary Mint). I never got a physical sim - I was able to set up esim in the app and activate it that way. I've set my own e-sim pins so every update or phone reset (which I've done) requires the esim pin but it's worked perfectly with no problems.

As far as I know, all esim actions are done in the app. So install Mint Mobile on the new phone, go to switch device in settings, and choose esim - bam.

I've been with Mint for a couple years now and it's great, except, they don't support the Apple Watch :( If they did, they'd be perfect.
Yep, we would have switched I think if they had Apple Watch. We use Verizon and Verizon has lowered the cost of Apple Watch plans significantly $4.54/mo with the 5G Do More plan.

Hmm, when I was checking prices on T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon the plans with a BYOP was typically in the $55-70 range for one line, depending on how much data you wanted and they noted that there would be fees on top of that. Also the person I responded to indicates that he was paying $70 per line x3.

Mint OTOH is $15 plus tax and 911 federal fee.

Right. Price has nothing to do with contracts. They’re still month to month. You’re just paying a lot more because you’re also getting a lot more (priority data, better international rates, better “freebies”, etc.). Whether or not those are worth it is up to you, of course, but they’re still month to month.

The post-paid carriers “convince” you to stay with them by instead getting you to sign up for an EIP, where the price of your phone is added to your monthly bill. Those phones are typically locked, requiring the owner to pay the remaining balance in full before the phone is unlocked. That is very different from a formal cellular contract though. Cell contracts carried high ETF fees that never went down over time (like a phone EIP) and still applied even if you bought your phone outright and/or did a BYOD program. Phones sold under contracts were also not obligated to be unlocked. That’s part of why years ago you could buy the iPhone for $99, instead of $699 or however much it is per month: it was offset by the higher contract prices, the forced ETF that could easily be $600+, even if you’re just a week away from the contract ending, and the phones would never be unlocked to be used on other carriers.

I have a 10GB a month plan that costs me $20. It would be nice to have the watch on there as well, but it's not a deal breaker when I can save that much money. I have 4 others on Mint as well. Saves me a butt-load

That’s the same plan I use. Heh. I’m dual esim at the moment with Verizon and Mint. :). Also on 10gb plan. I really like Mint.
