We all know iPad OS 16 will bring External Monitor Support to the M1 iPads but does anyone know if someone wants to still want to Mirror the iPad then will it occupy full screen ? or will it be the same Black Bars on both the sides ?

iPad Pro Mirroring iPad on iPad OS 16 ?

As of the first Beta, Mirroring mode leaves black bars on each side of the screen, but Extended Desktop mode removes the black bars.
So let's say I want to do a presentation from my iPad on a big screen, on a monitor but without the black bars what is the solution for this then ?

Depending on the app, slideshows might be one of those things that display fullscreen on external display even before iPadOS 16.
If you already have an iPad and external display available, why not give it a try with Powerpoint or Keynote app?

What about if i want to show a photo from my photo library on the iPad onto the full-screen of the monitor ?

I can’t quite remember but yes, I believe this would show full screen.
I remember making a video/slideshow using Photos - Memories for my uncle’s 60th birthday. The exported video displayed fullscreen on the venue’s 60” TV (2017 iPad Pro 12.9 + Lightning to HDMI adapter).

Are you sure because I think I have tried this if I remember and at the moment on iPad OS 15 it does not Photo does not show full screen on an external monitor.

Not sure about photos. I think it’s possibly mirror with pillarbox when the menus are displayed, no pillarboxing when viewing in fullscreen mode.
I’m sure about the fullscreen video playback, though.
Just tried this with iPadOS 15.5, 2021 12.9, and 4k monitor connected via USB-C to HDMI. With 3 different photo apps - Photos, Photo Manager Pro, HashPhotos - photos were displayed on the monitor in letterbox when viewed full screen (unlike video playback).
So has anyone found a way out in iPad OS 16 of mirroring photos full screen on an external monitor from an iPad Pro ?
