iPhone 12 Pro Missed call/Recent calls

I’ve notice lately that when my phone is on DND I can see if someone left me a voicemail in the phone app but there is no notification under recents. In order to see the missed call I physically have to go into the recents tab and look for the call in red. Why is this? There is supposed to be a notification number on the recents tab.

anyone else?
