missed extending iPhone warranty

I never planned on buying the 3g iPhone however I also did not think about extending my warranty on my current iPhone 4gb. I called Apple yet it seems I am to late by 16 days. Does anyone know of a warranty service that I can buy?

A lot of people talk about getting it covered under their homeowners policy or renters insurance. You could look into that.
