Just a note on Cut/Copy/Paste for files on the Mac...
The Mac has never made you choose between copying/moving files up-front. In other words, there is no 'Cut' for files.
Copies and Moves both start with a right-click > Copy (shortcut: Cmd+C).
Then, in the destination, right-click again. If you choose 'Paste Item' (shortcut: Cmd+V), you'll copy the source. However, hold the Option key, and you'll see 'Paste' change to 'Move Item' - (shortcut: Cmd+Opt+V)
This is quite nice - I occasionally use this to paste multiple copies of a file to different locations, before finally moving to the final location - i.e., Cmd+C, Cmd+V, Cmd+V, Cmd+V, Cmd+Opt+V)
And this isn't just the Mac being different for the sake of it - MacOS's Finder has had this behaviour for decades.
EDIT: Oh, and in general, play around with holding the Option key whilst you've got any application or right-click menus open. You'll discover some handy features. For example, drop-down Safari's File menu and hold Option - you'll see Cmd+W closes the current tab, whilst Cmd+Opt+W closes all tabs except the current tab. There's a whole bunch of these throughout the system and all applications.
