On WhatsApp since updating to new 8.0 update the icons to show you have a new notification is gone

Any way to get this back? As was available on previous update. My girlfriend won’t download nova either

certainly is annoying as if she swipes the notification bar she could easily miss messages. oh well hopefully there is a fix as certainly can't be on purpose.

Are you talking about the dot? If so mine never left but WhatsApp did a pretty big update a couple days ago
