Missing Calculator app

I dont knowif im having a blond moment however; i cant find my calculator app!
I didnt think you could delete one of the built in apps on an Ipad Air.
Help

No built in app. You will need to buy one. Just one of those weird decisions made by Apple.

i wish they allowed you to remove the stock apps that you didn't need or use. i don't need contacts, compass, voice memos, stocks, game center etc..

I don't use contacts every day or anything but that's an app I would keep...

Agree. One time I forgot my iPhone at home. Had my iPad with me and made a phone call on my iPad. Glad I had the phone numbers with me.

Thanks for your speedy replies ugcop & charlituna - I thought I was going bonkersgood to have inpependent advice.

I also agree with the other forum members - Apple should give you the opportunity to remove some of the lesser needed apps. After all we are adults and know what we want - don't we

okay but i don't like having pages upon pages of apps, i like one screen.

There are plenty of free ones in the App Store; that where I got mine.

Good Question. They obviously did not ask us {their customers). Maybe they thought that we would be better off choosing our own app! Like, I did not need a scientific calculator; just one with big buttons and free.

I'm personally glad there wasn't a stock calculator included. That gives me the ability to find one that fits my needs and not clutter my device with another stock app I'll never use.

Could be Apple omitted it precisely for that reason.

I never use the calculator app, and I find it rather useless. I always use Wolfram Alpha! It's a much more capable calculator.

I know! I realized that after Apple removed the "Calculator" stock application, I always find myself needing it lol.

Hopefully it will make a return to iOS in the future.

The lack of a Calculator is just one of a MULTITUDE of reasons the iPad is no OSX laptop. It's maybe 25% of a laptop in capability and usefulness.

I hope the rumors that the iPad Pro will have OSX or a hybrid version of iOS and OSX are true, so that the device will have more like 75% of the capability of an OSX laptop.

It's likely that the iPad will soon have some hybrid OS X features. But, it's still got a ways to go, and a lot more development.

What of you need to look up a contact's information while on a phone call? Only way to do that would be through the contacts app.
