argh... i suddenly found out that that my powerbook no longer detects my cdrom drive! there's no icon no nothing..🙁 whenever i insert a disc, u hear some sound and it does nothing... anyone can help?🙁

What kind of CDs did you insert? Music CDs? Data CDs? And what are the settings in the System Preferences?

it doesn't read any type of disc.. err... it doesn't even detect that i got a cdrom drive...-_-! my whole icon is missing...🙁

yeah... nothing seems to help..🙁 tried the reset PRAM too... it just seems as if i never had a cdrom drive at all..>_<

Just a thought -- try rebooting from the system disk. (restart holding "C")

If that doesn't work, it's almost certainly a hardware problem.

Before you do anything else, perform a PMU (Power Management Reset) reset. If that doesn't work, take it in to have it serviced, it's most assuredly a hardware issue.
