I have noticed that, in macOS Ventura (as well as several releases before this) that some favicons do not display within the Favorites dropdown in Safari.

Is there a way to fix this? The favicons display properly in the sidebar view.

Screenshots of both views are shown. Thanks for any suggestions.

Here is the 'general' Favorites view:

And the corresponding view in the Sidebar:

This is a known bug. When you clear the cache, symbols appear, once you visit the site, they disappear again. Or inverse.

Like the "Green Mind" avatar. A favorite album of mine in high school.

Anyway, so, it's a known issue but Apple has yet to fix it. I feel like it has been an issue in Safari for a number of years now. I know it's a fairly innocuous pet peeve, but, it's a pet peeve nonetheless.

Haven't noticed it until saw your post. Yup, same thing happen here.

The small ones are stored in ~/Library/Safari/Favicon Cache, the big ones are in ~/Library/Safari/Touch Icons Cache

I saw this and a lot of similar posts in the web, but there still doesn't seem to be a solution. Even the favtool doesn't work if icons on the favorites part of the safari home screen are missing.

Any ideas lately?

Greetings
