Missing icon on notifications

Some apps don't display icons when notifications pop up. For example, this Guardian news alert I got five minutes ago.

There's no Guardian app so this is a forwarding issue. I can't uninstall and reinstall.

Looks fine on the phone. This seems to have started when I installed iOS 11 and/or watchOS 4. (This watch came with 4, since it's a series 3, but I don't recall seeing this problem with the series 0 on 4.)

This is a known issue, there are also a bunch of threads already started on this topic. Apple will eventually send out and update to fix this.
