I just bought the new iMac 27" 2019 with 8gb ram and upgraded to 40gb ram myself.

It works just fine, i am just puzzled why there is no memory tab when viewing the "about this mac"?

Also when viewing system specs it states that the ram is not upgradeable?

Language in pictures is Danish :)

I just noticed the same thing... the tab is missing on my 2018 MacBook Pro... but my late-2015 iMac shows the tab... both are on Mojave... odd

The 2018 MacBook Pro doesn't have upgradable RAM, so the missing tab is normal. Strange that it would be missing on a 27" iMac though.

Apple's website confirms upgrading the RAM in the 27" 2019 is officially supported, so this must be a bug. Maybe it'll be fixed in a future software update.

I'm not on mine now, but I don't think it was showing up for me either. I think I just verified my upgrade by clicking the "System Report" button.

I suspect it is related to the confusion over model numbers. My 27" is 19.1. But based on previous iMacs you would expect the 21" to be 19.1. And initially so did Apple's web sites - for example, iCloud (in the list of my devices) showed my new 27" as being a 21". Add in the fact that System Information says the RAM is not upgradeable. There was a screwup somewhere.

I am assuming that the lack of Memory tab in About This Mac (as well as saying RAM not upgradeable) will be fixed in 10.14.5. Can any beta testers confirm this?

Just installed macOS 10.14.5 beta and can confirm that the memory tab is back :):apple:
