I'm trying to get my sms.db onto my Mac for backup. I found the file on my iPhone, but I then realised the file is dated for about 2 weeks ago, and so, is missing more recent messages.

How do I force the phone to update my sms.db file? And what are the files 'sms.db-shm' and 'sms.db-wal'?

I've encountered this before... restart the phone and I think the db will update, as far as I remember anyway.

Sorry for the late reply!

Tried this a few times and it doesn't seem to trigger the update. The sms.db-wal file seems to be fairly large (3-4 mb), so I'm wondering what this actually is...
