Hello,

I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro and my Utilities folder located in my applications folder is empty. My spotlight wont find the application I need either. I am not exactly sure how my utilities folder's contents went missing but I am looking for a solution without paying 300$ for 3 years of applecare yet(I know its recommended).

Thank you,

~Jake

Did you try the following search methods?

To find system files via Finder, that can't be found via Spotlight:

And does anyone else have admin access or access at all to your MBP?

And I agree with blueroom, it is not a hardware issue, a simple reinstall will work quite well, and as far as I know, no personal data and settings and already user installed applications should be deleted during this process.

I guess you do not use any kind of backup strategy?
